Overview :

1. On Day 1, ride a 2-hour bus from Tokyo to Nikko. A National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter will provide detailed explanations about Nikko's intriguing history.
2. After the main shrine repairs which took about 4 years and cost a total of around JPY 1.2 billion (approx. USD 11 million) were completed, World Heritage Nikko Toshogu Shrine's Yomeimon Gate was once again opened to the public in 2017. Lay your eyes on the richly colored structures that have been restored to their former glory.
3. Enjoy sightseeing at Kegon Falls--counted as one of the 3 greatest waterfalls in Japan--and Lake Chuzenji.
4. The accommodating hotel of Nikko Kanaya Hotel was established in 1873 and is the oldest classic resort hotel in Japan. The Japanese-style architectural beauty of the building, combined with Western-style furniture and fixtures, gives the hotel an atmosphere that can only be found at such a classic hotel. The hotel has been host to famous figures throughout history, from Albert Einstein to Helen Keller. It is just about a 15-min walk from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, making it a highly convenient location for sightseeing as well.

90(min) Nikko Toshogu Shrine A registered UNESCO World Heritage Site, this sacred place with over 400 years of history is where Ieyasu Tokugawa, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate, is enshrined. Enjoy seeing the traditional beauty of the main hall, as well as the sleeping cat and 3 monkey carvings.

50(min) Lunch Enjoy a Japanese-style lunch.

10(min) Lake Chuzenji Created by an eruption of Mt. Nantai, Lake Chuzenji is a symbol of Nikko.

30(min) Kegon Falls Known as one of Japan's 3 great waterfalls, Kegon Falls towers an impressive 97 meters and gushes water from Lake Chuzenji.

16:30-17:30 Arrive & Stay at Nikko Kanaya Hotel This is the oldest classic-style hotel in Japan, conveniently located for sightseeing in the city of Nikko. Furnishings and decor throughout the hotel evoke a nostalgic Meiji period (1868-1912) feel, and most of the hotel buildings are registered as Tangible Cultural Properties.

-11:00 Check out from Nikko Kanaya Hotel Free time all day after checking out of hotel. Enjoy sightseeing in Nikko. (The guide will not accompany the tour on Day 2. )
The shrines and temples of Nikko, Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa Memorial Park (admission fee paid separately), Kanmangafuchi Abyss lined with about 70 jizo statues, and other sightseeing spots are within walking distance.
15:23-17:23 112(min) Depart from Tobu Nikko Station Please head to Tobu Nikko Station and board the train for the return trip on your own.
17:15-19:15 Arrive at Asakusa Station, Tour Ends Tour ends upon arrival. Please head to your next destination on your own from the station of arrival.

If the minimum number of participants (1) is not met by 14 days before the scheduled date, the tour on that date may be canceled.
[Exemptions/Itinerary Guarantee: Itinerary/Destinations]
- Heavy traffic due to colored leaves is expected every year on Irohazaka Winding Road from Oct. to early Nov. Therefore, Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji will not be visited during this period. In such cases, any of the following will be visited instead of Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji: Taiyuuin Mausoleum at Rinno-ji Temple, Futarasan Shrine, Kirifuri Falls, or Tamozawa Imperial Villa.
The alternative plan outlined above may be used even outside of the designated period (Oct. - early Nov.) due to road conditions or other reasons.
- No refunds will be issued as a result of location changes.
- As the tour uses a bus on Day 1, arrivals at each site may be delayed due to road conditions.
- An earphone guide will be provided to each participant at Nikko Toshogu Shrine on Day 1. However, if there are 15 or fewer participants, earphone guides may not be used.
A fee of JPY 10,000 may be incurred if an earphone guide is lost or damaged by a participant.
- The limited express train used on the return trip on Day 2 may not be changed to a different train. The limited express train schedule may vary slightly due to unforeseen conditions.
