The scenery from the top floor is absolutely breathtaking! At a samurai residence near the castle, you can learn how samurai used to live and feel what it's like.
In addition, tour a sake brewery, taste some Japanese sake, and savor a specialty of warm soba noodles.

09:40-10:10 15(min) Sumaru Yashiki This is a traditional Japanese house built during the Meiji period (1868-1912). At present it has been donated to Shiroishi City, and hosts exhibits of traditional washi paper called Shiroishi Washi. As a base for community development, it also hosts various events.
10:20-10:50 60(min) Zao Shuzo Tenjikan This exhibit hall is managed by a sake brewery maker. Founded in 1873, it makes Japanese sake every year from November to March using rice and water sourced locally.
11:00-11:40 40(min) Shiroishi Castle Shiroishi Castle is Shiroishi's iconic sightseeing spot. Experience wearing armor and a helmet free of charge! From the top floor, you can see a breathtaking panorama of beautiful mountains. You're sure to take some memorable photos here.
11:45-12:30 40(min) Shiroishi Castle History Museum This museum lets visitors learn all about Shiroishi's past. The shop on the first floor offers Shiroishi Castle original products, Sengoku Basara anime goods, Shiroishi specialty umen noodles, washi paper, and more.
12:45-13:05 20(min) Katakura Family Samurai Residence This is a Miyagi Prefecture Designated Cultural Property. This samurai residence is snug beside a waterway that's accessible on foot from Shiroishi Castle. There is a spot where you can get down to the waterway which is still used to this day, and you can also see how it was actually used in people's way of life during the Edo period (1603-1868).
