A Chinese-speaking Region-specific Tour Guide Interpreter or National Government Licensed Chinese Guide Interpreter who is knowledgeable on Mt. Fuji's terrain and history will guide participants while thoroughly explaining all about the charms of this iconic peak. You will surely discover Mt. Fuji's deep, unique world which can't be seen by just reading a guidebook or walking along a mountain path.
2. Participants will be taken on the recommended hiking course for the season.
[May 15-31, July 11 - Aug. 10, Oct. 1 - Nov. 10, 2021 Departures]
In the vicinity of the 5th Station, the Okuniwa trail can be enjoyed for the longest period of time (generally mid-May to early Nov.). Perhaps due to it being located a short distance away, its charm isn't really known, but it is actually a hidden photogenic spot and is the perfect place for experiencing the origin and natural activity of Mt. Fuji. The tour will go around the miraculous floating garden, an area that was reduced to a burnt field due to an eruption 1,200 years ago and then created by the powerful performance of plant life. From here, the summit of Mt. Fuji towers with overwhelming intensity right before your eyes, and you can also look out on the mountains of the Japanese Alps in the distance. Participants will surely be able to perceive the plants' astounding will to live up close. This area features plenty of sights to see, including rhododendron in summer and colored leaves in autumn.
[June 1 - July 10 & Aug. 11 - Sept. 30, 2021 Departures]
The mountain climbing period (July 1 - Sept. 10) allows climbers to experience walking the first section of the most popular route in modern day Mt. Fuji climbing, as well as part of the old route, a path rich in history since the time of mountain worship, letting people think about the history of those pilgrims.
During the open period for the Ochudo trail (generally June 1 - Oct. 31), the tour will hike along part of the Ochudo trail, which circled around Mt. Fuji along the forest line. This mountain trail was considered as one of the highest levels of ascetic practices, as only those who have reached the summit of Mt. Fuji at least three times were allowed to walk on it. There are stone-paved sections as well, making it easy even for beginners. Feast your eyes on stunning scenery such as the forests, the summit, craters from past eruptions, Lake Motosu, Lake Kawaguchi, the Southern Alps, and many more from this pathway high up in the sky.
3. Customers that join the tour will be presented with an original souvenir for climbing Mt. Fuji.
