09:40-10:20 Arrive at Tokyo Station An English-speaking tour conductor will guide you to the Shinkansen at Tokyo Station.
140(min) From Tokyo Station to Kyoto Station Take the Nozomi Shinkansen to Kyoto.
Guides and other staff do not ride on the Shinkansen with tour participants.
11:55-12:40 Arrive at Kyoto Station An English-speaking staff will guide customers from Kyoto Station to the lunch venue.
Lunch (Western-style menu) Enjoy lunch at a hotel.
Depart from Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo After the meal, walk to the tour bus departure location (Sunrise Tours Desk in Avanti).
60(min) Todai-ji Temple (Great Buddha) Nara Park A World Heritage site. This is the symbol of the Nara Period and one of the world's largest wooden structures. Its huge main hall and bronze Great Buddha are impressive to behold.
40(min) Kasuga Taisha Shrine This Nara Period shrine is designated as a World Heritage Site. The deer of Nara Park are thought to be the shrine messengers.

20(min) Nara Nagomikan (Gift Shop) The largest souvenir shop in Nara. Enjoy yourself in this spacious shop and look for the perfect souvenir.

18:30-19:30 Hotels in Kyoto City Participants will be dropped off at their hotel in Kyoto City.


07:50-08:45 Depart from Hotel in Kyoto City Head from the hotel to the tour bus departure location (Sunrise Tours Desk in Avanti).
50(min) Nijo Castle A World Heritage site. Tour the historical castle completed in 1626, which was built to provide lodging for the Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace. The impressive, elaborate carvings and decors in the Ninomaru Palace are a must-see.
45(min) Kinkaku-ji Temple A World Heritage site. The wooden architecture is covered in thin layers of pure gold and is surrounded by a beautiful pond.
40(min) [Regular]   Kyoto Imperial Palace See the Kyoto Imperial Palace, which was used as the Emperor's residence until about 150 years ago.

40(min) [Kyoto Imperial Palace Closed Days] Kitano Tenmangu Shrine On Mondays (and Tuesdays if a national holiday falls on the preceding Monday), this tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead of the Kyoto Imperial Palace. It is famous for housing the God of scholarship. This shrine's main hall is a designated national treasure. The shrine is especially great to see during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons.

60(min) Lunch Participants will be provided a set menu meal.
30(min) Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of some 40,000 inari-jinja shrines located all over Japan. The bright red Senbon Torii gates are a must-see attraction.
30(min) Sanjusangen-do Temple Visit the world's longest wooden structure, housing 1,001 life-size statues of Buddhist Kannon deities dating back to the 13th century.
70(min) Kiyomizu-dera Temple The view of Kyoto from the World Heritage Site of Kiyomizu-dera is superb. The historic shopping lane that leads to the temple adds to a wonderful experience.
18:00-19:00 Arrive at Kyoto Station An English-speaking staff will help customers board the Shinkansen at Kyoto Station.
140(min) From Kyoto Station to Tokyo Station Head to Shin-Yokohama, Shinagawa, or Tokyo via Nozomi Shinkansen.

[About Day 1 Itinerary (Nara Afternoon Tour)]
1. During the Gion Festival (Sakimatsuri, July 15 - 16), drop-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel and Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto will be unavailable due to traffic restrictions.
2. Participants will walk from the parking lot to Todai-ji Temple (about 15 min one-way). Thank you for your understanding. Please inform us at the time of booking if any person in your group is using crutches or a wheelchair, or has a chronic illness that makes it difficult to walk for long distances.
3. At Kasuga Taisha Shrine, the tour does not include entrance to areas requiring admission.
4. Nara Nagomikan may be omitted from the itinerary if it is closed on the day of the tour, or as a result of traffic congestion.
[About Day 2 Itinerary (1-Day Kyoto Tour)]
1. The Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed on the following days. As such, the tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead.
If the closed day falls on the 25th, the tour will visit Nishi Hongan-ji Temple. (Mondays, Tuesday if Monday is a national holiday, and whenever there is an Imperial Household event)
2. Nijo Castle is closed on Tuesdays in January, July, August, and December. (Closed on the following day if Tuesday is a holiday.) If closed, or if the tour is during the year-end/New Year's holidays, Ryoan-ji Temple will be visited instead.
4. During the Gion Festival (Sakimatsuri, July 15 - 16), drop-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel and Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto will be unavailable due to traffic restrictions.
