 The Tokaido Shinkansen (Bullet Train) is the highspeed link between Japan's three major cities (Tokyo-Nagoya-Osaka).
Speeding along a maximum of 270 km/h, the trains travel the 560 km between Tokyo and Osaka in as little as 2 hours 30 minutes. The trip is made even more convenient, enjoyable and comfortable by the advanced, aerodynamic design of the trains and attentive service offered by railway staff.
The "Tokaido" artery links Tokyo, Japan's capital, located on the eastern edge and "Osaka", a commercial city, located on the western edge. Between these two destinations lie the ancient capitals of Kyoto and Nara, with their strong preservation of Japanese culture, and "Nagoya" a city long known for its industrial activities. In other words, the "Tokaido" is the historical, cultural, industrial, and hub of Japan, which makes the "Tokaido Shinkansen" operated by JR "Bullet Train" that links Japan's past and present. |
