The Ritz Carlton, Kyoto
A luxury urban resort in the ancient city of Kyoto, offering elegant grace and premium hospitality
Discover a haven of luxury in the heart of Japan’s ancient imperial city. The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto is a place where the age-old Japanese traditions of refinement, elegance and hospitality merge seamlessly with contemporary Western comforts. Overlooking the Kamogawa river, in a prime location favored by Japanese noblemen since the 17th century, the hotel offers sublime views of the river and the Higashiyama mountain range, and easy access to the vibrant downtown districts of Gion, Pontocho and Kawaramachi.

Inspired by the design of Meiji-era houses, and including many traditional Japanese features, our luxurious guest rooms are the largest in Kyoto, measuring an average of 50 sqm. We offer a total of 134 guest rooms, including 17 lavish suites and 2 tatami rooms. Rooms provide views of the Kamogawa river and the Higashiyama mountains, or look out onto private Japanese courtyard Zen gardens. Some of our suites have outdoor garden terraces or a moon-viewing deck: the perfect spot for watching cherry blossom drift past in spring, or admiring the changing colors of autumn.
