Adachi Museum of Art (Shimane Prefecture, Chugoku Region)
Set in a beautiful natural environment, the Adachi Museum of Art is well known for both its superb Japanese gardens and its collection of contemporary Japanese paintings. The collection comprises of approximately 1,300 of the country's most highly regarded paintings produced after the Meiji period and centers on the works of Yokoyama Taikan.

Ohara Museum of Art and Kurashiki Bikan historical Area
(Okayama Prefecture, Chugoku Region)

The Ohara Art Museum is located in the ancient merchant quarter, the Bikan historical area, in Kukrashiki. The area is surrounded by unique examples of 17th century wooden warehouses called kura. Also located here is the Ohara Art Museum; the first collection of Western art to be permanently exhibited in Japan. Opened in 1930, it contains masterpieces by El Greco, Monet, Matisse, Gauguin, and Renoir.

Chichu Art Museum (Kagawa Prefecture, Shikoku Region)
Chichu Art Museum is located in an island town in the Naoshima part of the Kagawa District; in the Seto Inland Sea. Designed by well-known Japanese architect Tadao Ando, it is located on one of the highest points of the island. It houses works by James Turrell and Walter De Maria and paintings by Claude Monet.

The Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum Japan (Kagawa Prefecture, Shikoku Region)
The Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum Japan consists of about 150 art works by Isamu Noguchi, a prominent Japanese American artist and landscape architect. It is also home to the exquisite sculpture garden that he designed.

MIMOCA (Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art)
Genichiro Inokuma(1902-1993) is a notable artist of modern art and his museum, MIMOCA was designed by Yoshio Taniguchi, famous for the creation of MOMA in New York. Guests can enjoy the collaboration of the two artists here.
