Fuji Speedway: The New Home of the Japanese Formula One Grand Prix!
FujiSpeedwayFuji Speedway will host the 2007 Japanese Formula One (F1) Grand Prix in October 2007. The race had been held at Suzuka Circuit since 1987, but the Fuji Speedway offers many appealing new features that promise to make the race better than ever.
Fuji Speedway is located right at the foot of Mt. Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan, and over its 40 year history, it has been the stage for an exciting array of motor sports. Renovation of the track was completed in 2005, adding high-tech and safety features to its world-class, high-speed course.

FujiSpeedwayIts prime location means that the racetrack is surrounded by beautiful scenery, but it is also conveniently located near tourist facilities such as shopping malls, amusement parks, hot springs, and golf courses. Nearby Gotemba also offers a wide range of hotels and Japanese-style hot-spring inns. Fuji Speedway is easily accessible from metropolitan Tokyo. By train, the Odakyu Romance Car makes the trip from Shinjuku to Gotemba Station (the closest station to the racetrack) in about 1 hour and 25 minutes. By bus, it takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes via Odakyu Hakone express bus from Shinjuku Station to Gotemba Station. There is also another express bus that runs from Tokyo Station to Gotemba Station that takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. From Gotemba Station, it is only a 20 minute local bus ride to Fuji Speedway.
