Maybe you have seen the mountain fired in the shape of a character. This is "Daimonji-yaki" and is the custom to send spirits of the dead to the other world in summer. You can go hiking to this special mountain by yourself!! Start climbing from Ginkakuji street, you'll get to the observatory space in about 40 min.

This sweet tastes wonderful!! Konpeito is a tiny sugar sweet introduced from Portugal. Ryokujuan Shimizu is the only specialized store of Konpeito and It doesn't have a routine recipe, however, it takes for 20 years until workmen master the making skill with exquisite five senses. And it is created graceful colors and luster by original process Every season new color of konpeito is released, so please enjoy the special season color of you visit. |

Among some museums in Kyoto, Hosomi Museum is the most unique and enjoyable!!
It holds almost all kinds of Japanese arts and crafts and also has decent museum cafe and Japanese tearoom. The cafe serves nice Italian cuisine, nice spot to rest from busy sightseeing. Japanese tearoom is like an aerial tearoom, for it's located on the top of the building! Drawings of Jakuchu or Kourin from Edo Period are marvelous and recommendable. |
