 Ginza isrenowned asTokyo's main shopping district, and its streets are lined with famous department stores, boutiques and restaurants. September saw the opening of a new 12 story department store in the heart of Ginza,  Marronnier Gate.
Along with a fine selection of stylish retail boutiques and restaurants, five stories of the building are occupied by Tokyu Hands.
 Tokyu Hands is an unique department store that focuses on hobbies, home improvement and lifestyle products. It has branches throughout Tokyo and is popular amongst the Japanese as well as visitors from abroad. Tokyu Hands offers a wide variety of products such as do-it-yourself kits, stationery, Japanese calligraphy, painting accessories, home appliances and toys. The Ginza branch carries on  this tradition,but influenced by its location, it also carries products that target ladies and business people. For example, the 5 th floor features health and beauty products!
There is also an interesting corner on the 9th floor called "Tokyo Explorerh, a kind of "base camp" for people who want tolearnmore about and explore  Tokyo.
One interesting product on this floor is a selection of daruma dolls created by famous designers.
