The highlands of Hakone boast a large number of hot springs (onsen) and both Japanese and overseas visitors come to Hakone for treatment at the many health resorts, to visit the parks and mountains or just to relax and unwind.
Fukuoka

Fukuoka is Kyushu's largest city and main port through which trade from the Asian continent first entered Japan. The east part of this city was once called "Hakata" which is still the name of Fukuoka's central district, main railway station, Festivals and toys. The city's ancient past lives on in the remains of its castle.
Hiroshima

Hiroshima is the capital of Hiroshima Prefecture. Completely razed by the atomic bomb explosion in August 1945, it has since been rebuilt into the cultural, economic and political heart of western Honshu. Hiroshima's Peace Park including the memorial museum, and the island of Miyajima are among Japan's most interesting tourist attractions.
Nagoya

Nagoya is the capital of Aichi Prefecture. A leading industrial city, Nagoya is especially noted for its chinaware, timepieces and machinery. Surrounded by beautiful valleys and attractive historical sites, it is home to Nagoya Castle, built in 1612 and reconstructed in 1959, and Atsuta Shrine, one of Japan's most sacred Shinto shrines.
Nara

Nara was Japan's first permanent capital. It is conveniently located less than one hour from Kyoto and Osaka. Nara is home to many historic treasures, including some of Japan's oldest Buddhist temples, and is famous for playing an important role in the development of Japan's arts, crafts, literature and industries.
Nikkō

Nikkō is located in the mountains of Tochigi Prefecture. Nikkō National Park contains some of the country's most spectacular waterfalls, scenic trails, and many famous hotspring (onsen) resorts. A popular tourist destination in any season, its many historical attractions include the Futarasan Shrine, which dates back to the year 767.
