Osaka
A great arrival and departure point with multiple cultures
Osaka, Japan's second largest city and the cultural center of Western Japan, is defined by its strong merchant tradition. Although a city of few parks and many high-rise buildings, there is much to see and do in Osaka.
The city is famous for its gourmet culture, with fine restaurants in abundance.
Historical sites such as Osaka Castle and Sumiyoshi Grand Shrine happily coexist with the dynamic businesses and shopping districts.
Osaka is also a great departure point for key destinations in Western and Southern Japan. Nearby Kansai International Airport has direct flights to many world cities as well.
