Kyoto

A place where the spirit of old Japan lives in every facet of daily life.

The heart of Japanese civilization is in Kyoto, which was the country's capital for over a thousand years until 1868. Kyoto has been designated as a World Heritage Site for its wealth of ancient buildings and monuments.

This ancient city is also blessed with four distinct seasons, which highlight the natural beauty of the surroundings. Cherry blossoms, bamboo forests, swirling streams, bright colored autumn foliage, and pure white snow alternate through the year, while breathtakingly beautiful Japanese gardens of all descriptions leave a lasting impression of eternal serenity.

Kyoto has the infrastructure to welcome visitors. From transportation, sightseeing spots to dining and banking, all are easily accessible and multilingual.

Party plan at a historical temple

Party plan at a historical temple

Most historical buildings in Japan are Buddhist temples or Shinto shrines, and since for the most part, they’re all made of wood, the areas surrounding them are covered by strict fire regulations. Some temples can be used for parties, though, with special permission which JTBGMT is able to arrange.

The Japanese garden of a temple can be a wonderful venue for a cocktail party. We can organize traditional koto (Japnese harp), fue (flute) and taiko (drum) music to enhance the uniquely Japanese atmosphere, adding the perfect complement to the garden venue.

After the cocktail party in the garden, enjoy dinner at a restaurant located close to the temple's garden. Both Japanese and Western menus are available, and we'll even arrange a Maiko and Geisha performance during dinner. Maiko and Geisha are women who make a profession of providing entertainment for banquets and are known for their colorful kimono.
