Sake tasting in a healing natural world

Forty minutes from Shinjuku, the center of Tokyo, surrounded by abundant greenery and beautiful scenery, sits the Ishikawa sake brewery. Visitors are first greeted by a shrine to the god of rice (Daikoku) and water (Benten), and a pair of trees that are said to be 700 and 400 years-old, respectively, add to the hallowed atmosphere.
There are two buildings for creating sake as well as a separate small brewery for making a local brand of beer, making for a varied and fascinating tour.
